AMLR RTS
AMLR RTS tracker: where the standards stand
Which regulatory technical standards AMLA has finalised, what they cover, and what still has to happen before they bind.
The AMLR hands the detail of several obligations to regulatory technical standards (RTS) drafted by AMLA and adopted by the European Commission. This page records the status as we last checked it, on 14 October 2026. It will date; always check AMLA’s announcement for the latest.
What happened on 1 October 2026
AMLA announced three sets of final draft standards under Regulation (EU) 2024/1624:
| Standard | AMLR basis | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Customer due diligence | Article 28(1) | Information to collect for standard, simplified and enhanced due diligence, reliable sources for verification, electronic identification attributes, non-face-to-face verification, screening of PEPs |
| Business relationships and transactions | Article 19(9) | When a relationship or occasional transaction exists, linked transactions, and where lower thresholds should apply |
| Group-wide arrangements | Articles 16(4) and 17(3) | Minimum group-wide policies, controls and information sharing, parent undertaking criteria, measures where third-country law blocks compliance |
The first two were consulted on between 9 February and 8 May 2026. The group-wide draft was consulted on between 16 April and 15 June 2026.
Status
These are final drafts. AMLA has submitted them to the Commission. They are not adopted law until the Commission adopts them and they are published in the Official Journal. AMLA says they are proposed to apply six months after entry into force, and from 10 July 2029 for football agents and professional football clubs.
Do not treat the drafts as final text. Wording can change in the Commission’s hands.

Our view
A firm should plan against the drafts now. The CDD standard decides what a compliant onboarding file looks like, and that is the thing that takes longest to rebuild. We would not wait for Official Journal publication to start.
